Why Arthur is at a broker-carrier event

The Broker-Carrier Summit is about the relationship between brokers and the carriers who haul their freight. Freight fraud puts strain on that relationship from both sides. Brokers carry the liability when a load goes to the wrong truck. Honest carriers end up buried in enrollment, portals, and extra steps meant to stop the dishonest ones.

Carrier vetting checks the company at booking. It doesn’t tell the broker which driver and which truck actually showed up at the dock. That gap is how double brokering, chameleon carriers, and stolen loads get through.

Verification that doesn’t burden the carrier

Arthur closes that gap without adding work for carriers. When a load is tendered, the driver gets a text link — nothing to download, no ELD integration, no carrier enrollment. The driver scans their CDL, takes a live selfie, and photographs the truck. Arthur checks the credentials, truck, insurance, and location against the load and returns a result: verified, or needs review. The broker decides whether to release the pickup number, and every check is on the record.

For legitimate carriers, it takes a couple of minutes at pickup. For bad actors, it’s where the scheme stops.

What Arthur catches

Arthur has flagged expired and non-commercial licenses, drivers nowhere near the pickup, DOT numbers on the truck that didn’t match the booked carrier, trucks missing from the insurance policy, chameleon carriers that came back under a new name, and “team” loads where only one driver showed up.

Across loads verified with Arthur, 1 in 550 turns up serious suspected fraud, and 1 in 50 uncovers an issue the broker needed to know about.

What does Arthur do?
Arthur verifies the truck and driver at pickup for freight brokerages. The driver gets a text link — no app, ELD, or enrollment — and submits their CDL, a live selfie, and truck information. Arthur checks it against the load and returns a verified or needs-review result before the pickup number is released.

No. Drivers verify through a text link in their phone’s browser. There is no app to download, no ELD integration, and no carrier enrollment.
How is Arthur different from carrier vetting tools?
Carrier vetting tells a broker who they booked. Arthur tells them who showed up — the specific driver and truck at pickup, which is where double brokering, chameleon carriers, and cargo theft get through. The two are complementary.
